The success of VOI rural projects has been achieved with more than 80% local participation and support. The model is the Haryana project which targets more than 40 villages. Integrated development in Abheypur and 35 surrounding villages in Haryana (backward) where people have sold their land and are without any employment.
- Training of women in tailoring and designing in 12 villages (Approx 1500 trained)
- Employment was generated for approximately 5,500 village youth.
- Coordinated several state assisted projects directly for the village through local panchayat.
- Cotton weaving project started in 1995, and trained 45 women in Abheypur Village. There are two centers that are self-sustaining with a group microcredit program in force.
- Vocational training center - (VOITEC) provides training in Tailoring, weaving, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical welding, horticulture, floriculture, and sports development.
- Rural library - Rural tourism and rural awareness program for schools and colleges of urban youth. This program employs 15 youths on a part-time basis.
- Development of sports facilities through government agencies.
